“Where knowledge meets experience”

Adoption or PAR Assessments

This assessment is set out in a standardised format and is typically completed in a timescale of around 12 to 16 weeks.  At Beacon Hill Training, we firmly believe in ensuring that adoption assessments are of a very high quality and as thorough as any other assessment.  All issues and concerns will be fully assessed to contribute to a structured recommendation.  We firmly believe in looking at applicants' real strengths and abilities to create accurate and realistic matching criteria.  This will help a child be matched with the 'right' carer.

Description

Adoption or PAR assessments are completed in a standardised format set out by The British Association of Adoption and Fostering.   The format covers all the details that need to be addressed within the assessment.

Such assessments are lengthy and complex pieces of work and may require a number of visits.  As part of the assessment the worker will not only interview the applicant and their family but also look at their support networks and take up references.

Our assessor will provide clear and structured recommendations around whether the applicant should, or should not, be approved and what child the applicant would be best able to care for.
