Kinship Assessments

This assessment is set out in a standardised format and is typically completed in a timescale of around 12 to 16 weeks.  Like all our assessments, any issues or concerns are fully explored to create a thorough assessment.

Description

A kinship assessment is often carried out when a family member wishes to come forward as the carer for a child.  The assessment bears many similarities to that of a fostering report and looks at all aspects of the child's needs from contact with relatives to the ability of the carers to look after the child.  This includes assessing their home, health and parenting capacity.

This is an in-depth assessment and involves the active participation of the applicant.

How much will it cost?

The cost of a kinship assessment will depend on the complexity of the individual case and the geographical location of the client.  Please contact us for a full quotation.  As a guide, the hourly work rate is £30 and £25 for travelling time.
