A 'parenting assessment' or 'parenting risk assessment' is a detailed and often complex assessment that brings together all the information available together to provide the court with clear recommendations.
Issues typically include domestic violence, neglect or abuse as well as the impact of drug and alcohol misuse.
A parenting assessment is usually conducted in the parent / applicant's home and although it is the parents who are being assessed, it is the assessor's task to focus on the needs of the child and the potential risk posed to them.
Such reports include all available information from a variety of sources including social services, medical and police information amongst others. Information is recorded in a simple and easy to understand format.
The cost of a parenting assessment will depend on the complexity of the individual case and the geographical location of the client. Please contact us for a full quotation. As a guide, the hourly work rate is £30 and £25 for travelling time.
