An essential course for anyone who works with the public or service users or who may have to deal with aggressive, angry or demanding people.
This is a comprehensive course run over a full day that will give participants all the necessary tools, advice, knowledge and key skills they will need to work with people effectively. The course looks at the ways we can improve our own knowledge of how conflict arises, communication as well as the ways conflict can be managed and avoided.
This course also looks at practical skills, advice, tips, strategies and guidance to deal with escalating behaviour and anger, the reasons this occurs and the way it can be managed. This includes making risk assessments and the personal safety of staff.
Learners will also be given guidance on the warning signs of non-verbal body language as well as what to do when they find themselves in a threatening situation or feel they may be in physical danger.
